The best left-backs to sign in FC 27 Career Mode

SCOUTED is a magazine about youth football. Turns out, all that knowledge is pretty useful for FC 27 Career Mode, who'da thought?

We’ve picked out a few of our favourite young left-backs that would be suitable signings on your EA FC 27 Career Mode saves. From Yaimar Medina to Emmanuel Mbemba, these are some of the best young LBs in the game.

If you’re looking for older players, we have you sorted too: we've compiled highest overall left-backs at the start of your save into an easy list, too. And if you want more left-backs to sign, you're in the right place: SCOUTED has you sorted, just click around.

Who are the best Left-Backs (LBs) in FC 27 Career Mode?

The best left-backs in FC 27 Career Mode are those with the highest overall rating. Here's a handy list, including their overall at the start of the game, and their highest possible potential rating (in brackets):

1. Nuno Mendes - 89 (92)
2. Marc Cucurella - 86 (86)
3. Federico Dimarco - 86 (86)
4. Piero Hincapié - 84 (87)
5. João Cancelo - 83 (88)
6. Nico O'Reilly - 83 (87)
7. Lewis Hall - 83 (87)
8. David Raum - 83 (84)
9. Maximilian Mittelstadt - 83 (83)

Beyond Nuno Mendes, the ratings for the top-tier left-backs are pretty low, making it a great position to buy young and develop. There are a host of young left-backs just waiting for you to scout and poach. Here's a list of our favourites, with detail.

The six best young Left-Backs (LBs) to sign and develop in FC 27 Career Mode

• Sebastian Andrei Borza - 70 (82)
• Keita Kosugi - 69 (82)

Don't worry, we'll dive into detail in a moment. But first, we thought we'd give you our lists from the previous two games, alongside updated ratings for FC 27. Lewis Hall might be out of your budget now, though.

Now, let's get stuck into this year's list of the best left-backs to sign on EA FC 27 Career Mode.

Jorge Salinas

Age: 19
Position: LB; CB
Club: Racing de Santander
Nation: Spain
Market Value: £4.3m

Jorge Salinas is built like a typical full-back, but looks sleight when he does play centrally. He has an aggressive edge to his game and frantically searches for forward passes when on the ball.

On FC 27, his technical attributes are sound and he's got a decent jump on him. But you should only sign him if you're looking for that deeper, ball-playing full-back.

• Overall: 72
• Potential: 83
• Potential Growth: +11

Yaimar Medina

Age: 21
Position: LB; LM, LW
Club: Genk
Nation: Ecuador
Market Value: £3.4m

Belgian clubs are consistently investing in Ecuadorian prospects and Yaimer Medina is a product of this growing trend.

As for your Career Mode, if you care about speed then Medina is the best pick on this list. At the start of your save, he'll have 91 Acceleration and 91 Sprint Speed... imagine that he might get to if he reaches that 84 Potential Rating.

• Overall: 70
• Potential: 84
• Potential Growth: +14

Sebastian Andrei Borza

Age: 20
Position: LB; LM
Club: Corum F.K.
Nation: Romania
Market Value: £3.3m

Another full-throttle flyer, Borza is a stocky speedster and solid all-rounder.

84 Stamina, 86 Acceleration and 90 Sprint Speed jump off the page but he's also a comfortable distributor over any distance.

• Overall: 70
• Potential: 82
• Potential Growth: +12

Keita Kosugi

Age: 20
Position: LB; LM
Club: Eintracht Frankfurt
Nation: Japan
Market Value: £2.9m

We’ve been tracking Keita Kosugi since the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, where he captained Japan. A year later, he made the unusual move to leave his boyhood club Shonan Bellmare for Europe at 18 years old, joining Stockholm giants Djurgården IF in March 2024. It was a bold decision, but he hasn't looked back since. In January 2026, he moved to Eintracht Frankfurt.

He doesn't have the same top speed as previous picks, but he is the quintessential Japanese player, combining 85 Acceleration with 84 Agility and 91 Balance.

• Overall: 69
• Potential: 82
• Potential Growth: +13

Saba Kharebashvili

Age: 18
Position: LB
Club: Istanbul Basaksehir FK
Nation: Georgia
Market Value: £2.2m

Saba Kharebashvili is a multi-faceted left-sided defender that has mobility and technical quality to slide into different zones. He tits the modern ‘meta’ of full-backs. And he could become one of the best left-backs on the game.

18 years old and valued at £2.2m with a Potential Rating of 86, he is the perfect Career Mode project.

• Overall: 67
• Potential: 86
• Potential Growth: +19

Emmanuel Mbemba

Age: 18
Position: LB; CB
Club: Paris FC
Nation: France
Market Value: £600k

If you're looking for a lockdown full-back that could even play as a wide centre-back, go for Emmanuel Mbemba. He'd be below-average height for CB but he has a compact build, a good burst of speed, and springy jumps.

His 67 Interceptions and 71 Stand Tackle are a solid foundation for that lockdown profile as he works towards that 83 Potential Rating.

• Overall: 65
• Potential: 83
• Potential Growth: +18
