The Shortlist: Semih Kılıçsoy
A talented forward, nicknamed 'the next Agüero', for your shortlists

This is The Shortlist — the quick, digestible way to get to know football’s hottest property, as told by the scouts who’ve watched them.
Bence Bocsák is a freelance journalist specialising in Hungarian football. He is a longtime SCOUTED contributor and his first book, Rise of the Underdogs: Football’s New World Order, is available now.

SCOUTED: Ben, the tournament has begun. I’m hyped, you’re hyped, everybody’s hyped.
You want to tip Semih Kılıçsoy as a star of future European Championships. As this is a written piece, first thing’s first: how do you pronounce his name?
BENCE BOCSAK: You know what, I don’t really know. ‘Semih’ is pronounced as you’d expect - ‘Kill-choy’ is potentially the surname. My name has a Turkish origin, and the ‘cs’ is pronounced ‘ch’, so I’d assume it’s the same.

Good stuff, this is the insight people come to SCOUTED for.
Why’ve you picked Kılıçsoy? Who is he and why should people be excited?
