The end of one journey, the start of another: The Technical Area, September 2024
This month at SCOUTED, we have big news for our paid subscribers.

Dear readers,
Tom here, your Editor-in-Chief. This is The Technical Area, one guy’s public diary on the trials and tribulations of building a small media business, without asking ChatGPT to do it all for him. Two hands typed these words, boys and girls.
This month is a big one. Really big. We are in the early stages of building something new - something that will completely redefine what SCOUTED is, how we operate, and hopefully future-proof us for years to come. It’s still very early, and things could change. But it’s important I share it with you now, so we don’t blindside our paying members - you are, after all, the only reason we’re still here.
Yes, as TTA holds our biggest secrets, you need to be a paying member to unlock it. Sign up now and you’ll soon have access to SCOUTED50, too, which is just around the corner. Seems like a good deal imo.
Help us build our independent outlet on the future of football, free from ads or corporate interests
This blog is not about SCOUTED50, though. It’s about something bigger, more fundamental. Let’s get into it.

Where are we at?
So - a big change is in the works. Why? Well, to put it simply, SCOUTED is still not a sustainable business. Our ‘lil team of three still make serious personal concessions to run SCOUTED in its current form. This can’t last much longer. We have to do something - we have to find more readers and more customers, or it’s over. It’s really that simple.
