The Four Ps of Passing
Personified by Pedri.

Even before opening the scoring of the Copa del Rey Clásico in spectacular fashion, Pedri had cemented his place as the featured player for this week’s newsletter. I just didn’t know it yet.

Last week, after Pedri broke the record for most Ball Recoveries in a single game this season, I highlighted that only eight players have managed the following in a Big Five League campaign:
- 250+ Passes Into Final Third
- 200+ Ball Recoveries
- 50+ Passes Into Penalty Area
On Tuesday, Pedri broke the Ball Recoveries record again. This prompted further investigation into his all-timer campaign. By adding 50+ Key Passes to the mix, we found just six examples of a player ticking every box in a Big Five League season.

I thought that was that. But it was not until assembling this week’s SCOUTED Stats that I realised Pedri had also equalled another record in that game against Mallorca on Tuesday night.
