The clocks have gone back, which means we’re approaching the sharp end of the UEFA Youth League group stage.

Matchday two didn’t disappoint. It was fun. It had late drama, a bit of karma, and some outstanding individual performances. We wrote well over 6,000 words about it, cramming it all in. If you’ve not read it, read it below…


Drama and karma: UEFA Youth League, Matchday 2
As the days get colder and the nights draw in, we slip further and further into the warm embrace of the UEFA Youth League. Thankfully, this season’s schedule is much less intense than the non-stop action of last season’s. MD1 was all of two weeks ago now. In case you’ve forgotten or even missed what happened in the opening round of games, we have you covered.

Matchday three didn’t quite hit those heights, but there’s more than enough to talk about. One of them is Galatasaray beating Bayern, which really opens up Group A. Arsenal still haven’t made their mark in the competition. Group D(eath) continues to throw up exciting games too.

Only three teams maintain their 100% records after MD3 - and you’ll be surprised by two of them. Barcelona are obvious, fair enough, but the increasingly-impressive FC København and newcomers RC Lens aren’t.
